Director Lars von Trieris well known for speaking his mind and this sure is quite fresh to the media as he shocked with his Hitler scandal @ the Cannes Film Fest. The Danish director loves causing controversy everywhere he goes wether it be through the media schoks or through his films. Now Von Tier begins to boil his new scandal, a year before his next film Nynphomaniac, he is already thriving and causing a commotion about this movie. The name says it all... a 'Nymphomaniac' must be scandalous!
Screen Daily posted that von Trier is now woking on getting the finances together to start work on Nymphomaniac, which will follow the sexual growth of a woman from birth to age 50. It is said that von Trier is not holding back on the content where the film will likely have heavily pornographic scenes that may include hardcore pornographic content. However, there will certaintly be two versions of the film: the hardcore cut that can air on DVD and elsewhere, while the softer version will likely get an NC-17 or possibly an R rating that can show in mainstream theaters.
Producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen gave his thoughts on the film and said:
"Von Trier is really keen on doing this thing! I think that this will be a very amusing film also, very erotic but very funny also. I guess we have something which could generate some press attention. How pornographic it will be, that we have to see in terms of what financing dictates.
Although it’d be not very likely that von Trier let his financiers have much say of what goes in the cutting room floor for Nymphomaniac. I'm sure we can expect the hardcore version to be pure, unadulterated Von Trier. Fans of the filmmaker will be ecstatic about that! Filming will start in Denmark summer of 2012.
